Shaukhul-Hadith Hazrat Maulana Mohammad Zakariya Sb Rh.
   (May Allah have mercy upon him)
     Shaikhul-Hadith Hazrat Maulana Mohammad Zakariy [May Allah enlighten his grave] need not his introduction that every common man is  beneficiary of his great service. His compiled book "Fadha-e-A'mal" is read world wide.
     Shaikhul-Hadith was born on 11th Ramadan 1315-Hijri, at night at "Kandhla" town when his grand father Maulana Mohammad Ismail used to teach the children Quran in "Bangl-e-Wali" Mosque at Nizamuddin, Delhi and was unanimously a great scholar. No sooner he heard the news of his grand son being born than suddenly uttered that his substitute has arrived. He died the same year in the month of "Shawwal".
     As per the family tradition, he started memorizing the Holy Quran at the age of seven. The teaching method of his father was quite unique that he taught one page a day and asked the students "Revise it hundred times and enjoy rest of the day.

     He studied "Bahishti Zaiwar", elementary books of Persian language and other Urdu religious journals before his uncle, Maulana Mohammad Ilyas at Gangoh. He started Arabic education from his father when he returned back to Saharanpur after Hazrat Gangohi passed away. He was taught the current syllabus of Nahv and Sarf (Arabic grammar) with some exclusive changes and style that his father would select the books required each year. His father Hazrat Maulana Mohammad Yahya taught him the books of Islamic Jurisprudence and other teachers taught him some other books. He got "Fazeelat" (Graduation in Hadith) certificate in 1333-Hijri.

     Maulana Khaleel Ahmad (a close friend of his father), after returning from Hijaz, asked him to re-study "Bukhari" and "Tirmidhi" under his supervision and he did so with complete concentration. Seeing that, the kind teacher Maualana Ahmad turned his eyes to him and selected him in the team to work on "Budhlul-Majhood-Fi-Halli-Abi-Dawood" like important book.

     Although his farther's demise, in 1334-Hijri, was a great setback for him. Allah (S.W.T) bestowed him patience and dispense. He faced every challange with courage and never gave the way. When his father died he was in grave debt and settling it was his prime concern as his salary was merely rupees 15 per month. Though he got plenty good offers from different places specially Hyderabad and Bangla Desh but he never liked them. He continued teaching and writing Hadith in all the circumstances. Finally, the life went on smoothly.

     He accompanied Hazrat from Saharanpur (Khaleel Ahmad) on his second journey to pilgrimage in 1344-Hijri. As Hazrat from Saharanpur had already planned to migrate, he sent Maulana Zakariyya back with "Khilafat" of the four orders of Sufism (Four Sil-sila) because of which a large number of people turned to him for getting pledged on his hand. After that every Murabbi or Shaikh (Khalifah) died, referred his followers to him.

     There used to be a mass gathering of the devotees at his residence that on lookers would thought of a function and it was the scene of every day. His teaching career was very busy. He started teaching in 1335-Hijri and continued till 1388-Hijri. He always taught the major books of Hadith and spent 35 years of life in this profession. At the last stage of life he suffered from eye problem and underwent the surgery of the right eye in Aligarh in 1970 C.E. . During the stay in Aligarh he dictated his biography.
Permanent stay in "Madina" and Death:
     Hazrat Shaikh had always wished to be buried near the prophet (S.A.W.) to whom he  loved and whose tradition was served and spread throughout the life by him as to meet one's beloved is the priority of a lover. Shaikh travelled to sacred "Hijaz" with this intention on 18th  "Rabi-ul-Awwal" 1393-Hijri, i.e. 1973 C.E. and intended of migration to Madina in the same journey and hence, stayed for about 10 years in Madina. During the stay in Madina he visited India, Pakistan, Africa, England and some other countries but permanently lived in Madina. After a prolonged illness this wizard of practical knowledge died on 2nd "Sha'ban" 1402-Hijri between Asr and Maghrib.
