Deputy Abdur Raheem Sahab Rh.
Name & Lineage:
Mohammad Abdur Raheemà Al-haj Deputy Abdur Raheem was born in a village named "Gadla" of district Muzaffarnagar, U.P. India in 1864 C.E. "Gadla" exists about 12 K.M. to the north of Muzaffarnagar city. His exact date of birth is uncertain but according to his own words he was born in 1864 as he stated, " I got retirement in the year 1920 at the age of fifty six".
Reliable sources are uncertain about his primary education but in spite of his being passed Middle school in Urdu, he knew Hindi and English well. He himself said about his English, " I learnt English while I was in  service.
After passing out "Urdu Middle" due to some family problems, he was in search of a job. Firstly, he got a low rank government job as "Ranger" in Water Supply Department. Because of good record he was promoted to the post of "Sub Overseer" then "Zila daar" and later on he was honoured the post of Deputy Revenue Officer and Deputy Magistrate. He spent most of the time in Rohail Khand, Baraily and Mathura during his tenure. His last posting was at Saharanpur where he retired from the service and settled there and started social services from the very city.
Relationship with Islamic Scholars and Reformatory works:
He loved and respected religious scholars and has quite close relationship with the scholars of Darul-Uloom Deoband and Mazahirul-Uloom Saharanpur in particular Hazrat Shaikhul Hind and after him Hazrat Madni. He initiated establishing Madrasas in the region on the intimation of Hazrat Madani (May Allah have mercy upon them all). He established large and small twenty two institutions. Although, from the very beginning he was much concerned about the betterment of the community, he could not dedicate much time due to his job. No sooner he retired from the service, than he dedicated twenty four hours for the reformative work and served the community whole heartedly from 1920 to 1938. To uproot different bad customs and rituals spread among the society he tried his level best and joined the religious scholars in this regard. He made the people aware about the virtue of education and asked them to solve their community related issues mutually. He travelled village to village insisting people to form a reformatory organization. At last his endeavours yielded and an organization was established in 1923.

He kept on working hard under the banner of the organization and established its branches in different villages and towns. After nine or ten years' hard work he realized that all their efforts to merely make the people aware about education, were in vain unless they take some active steps in this regard. No active step for education was taken under the banner of the organization though it was the prime aim of the organization. Until now, Deputy Abdur Raheem supervised only madrasa at Reerhi Tajpura and that was not sufficient to fulfill the need of the region hence, more madrasas required in every town. So, under the guidance of religious scholars, he laid the foundation stones of several Madrasas. The first madrasa he established in 1351 Hijri i.e. 1932 C.E. was madrasa Khadimululoom Baghonwali.
He underwent the treatment many times and admitted to the civil hospital, Saharanpur. Later he got paralyzed in the tongue causing the last journey of life. He passed away on 2nd January 1938 in a guest room of late Hakeem Mohammad Yaqoob (Inna lillahi wa Inna ilaihi Rajioon) and was buried near the mosque of jamia Islamia Reerhi Tajpura, Saharapur in the north.
